Keynsham Durley Hill Cemetery is both a peaceful Victorian burial ground and the location of a major Roman archaeological site. It will be open for a display of photographs and artefacts, and for self-guided walks.

Come and discover the unusual mortuary chapel, home to striking stained-glass windows and the original funeral bier used by the workhouse until the 1920s.

The cemetery is set in beautiful natural surroundings. You can read our information boards and explore the site at your own pace, or learn more from one of our friendly staff. There will also be colouring activities for children.

Accessibility details

Pushchairs and wheelchairs/other mobility aids are welcome. Please note the sloping ground of the cemetery means some areas are not easily accessible.

Additional information

There is limited parking on site – please park considerately and, if possible, visit on foot or by bus, train or bike. Buses 178, 349 and A4 Air Decker all stop just outside. The cemetery is a 15-minute walk from Keynsham Train Station.
