Sponsors & Supporters
English Heritage took ownership of Heritage Open Days in May 2009, securing the future of this popular cultural event after the demise of the Civic Trust. Having previously funded and supported the programme for many years, English Heritage is proud to be helping give everyone the chance to discover the heritage and culture on our doorstep.
English Heritage
English Heritage is the champion of England’s historic environment, working to broaden public access to heritage and increase people’s understanding of the past. The Outreach team works to engage both volunteers and visitors from under-represented groups with Heritage Open Days.
By employing some of the country’s best conservationists, archaeologists and historians, English Heritage helps people to enjoy and appreciate the unsurpassed riches of England’s landscapes and buildings.
Members have direct access to the knowledge and views of these experts through the member’s handbook, the quarterly magazine Heritage Today, a comprehensive website and most importantly, free access to over 400 historic properties.
